Skybeds lies in the 200,000-hectare Khwai Private Reserve, in the north-east corner of Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. This is a camp with a difference as it is built around treehouse style platforms open to the stars and is close to a natural waterhole which is frequented by a large variety of wildlife.
The accommodation at Skybeds is rustic and consists of three treehouses on a raised platform looking out over the reserve. Each one is open to the stars and is accessed by a wooden staircase from the lower level. On the ground level is an enclosed bathroom with a shower, basin, flushing look and a change room area.
A fourth platform is used for sundowners where guests can partake in pre-dinner drinks and watch the game coming to drink at the waterhole. Dinner is then served at a long table close to the campfire.
Activities: As well as day and night drives, Skybeds also offers walking safaris. One of the camp’s main features is the opportunity for good game viewing from the vantage point of your Skybed “bedroom”.
